Since the space we do know is more “useful” to us than the space we don’t know, and can’t use, we do tend to focus our efforts on questions about exploring our own solar system as well as the surrounding star systems. We also look at the Milky Way as a home, and thus much research is devoted to it. So it’s nice to see that some researchers are looking into the physical properties of other galaxies in order to understand the universe. Do you think the properties of physics are different in other galaxies? I’ll buy that if we have other, “parallel” universes the properties of physics are completely different in them, but not sure if it’s that complicated in another galaxy. By the way, for a great read on that, check out The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov.
